Step-by-step instructions for obtaining an Indian passport

1. Register through the Passport Seva Online Portal. Click on the “Register Now” link on the Home Page.
2. Login to the Passport Seva Online Portal with the Login ID created in Step 1.
3. Fill out the passport application form online. Choose the “Apply for Ordinary passport – Application for fresh passport/Re-issue of Passport (Blue cover passport)” option.
4. Schedule an appointment at the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK). You can choose the PSK location where you want to submit your application.
5. Visit the PSK on the day of your appointment. Bring all the original documents such as proof of date of birth, identity proof with photograph, proof of residence, and proof of nationality.
6. Submit the application form and documents at the PSK. You will also need to pay the passport fee.
7. After submitting the application, you can track the status of your application online. You will receive an SMS and email notification once your passport is ready.
8. Collect your passport from the PSK. You can either collect it in person or have it dispatched to your address via post.
